Throughout the spring and summer, the various farmers markets around Providence can be found at several parks and green spaces around the city.

But unlike many of the farmers markets in New England, come fall the Providence markets don't close shop, they just move indoors. Running from about November 1 through May, for the past five years or so Farm Fresh Rhode Island has been helping to sustain local producers and farmers by coordinating this indoor event.
And wouldn't you know it but the market is set up in the hallway directly in front of Susie's shop. It couldn't be any more ideal -- and this past Saturday was the launch of the French Tarte opening her doors to the buyers strolling among the stalls and vendors of the market.

Aside from selling most of what she had prepared for the day several people signed up for classes and special orders were placed for Thanksgiving. And with that Susie closed her door at 2pm. The French Tarte is definitely on her way!
That evening we celebrated her rousing success at a stinky cheese party, followed by a late light supper at Chez Pascal's.
