Well,we're now set for our overnight stay from Paris/CDG to Limoux to meet up with Richard and Pauline. Thanks to Susie's brother Dick -- who put the idea in our heads -- we're going to spend our first night in France at Le Moulin de la Fauvette, a lovely little Bed and Breakfast in Oradour sur Glane, just off the A20.
And why Oradour sur Glane?
On June 10, 1944, on its way to stop the Allied advance in Normandy, a unit of the German Waffen SS destroyed the village utterly, murdering 642 men, women and children who happened to be in the village that day. After the war the village was left as it was that day as a memorial to those who perished.
You can find out more right here.
