This last Tuesday was a big day for us here -- and particularly for Susie. That was the day that she returned to Pascal's shop for another four weeks of playdough. And it seems not a moment too soon! Miss Chocolate is out of action injured it seems by the whim of fate and reportedly unable to work for a month or so. Miss Bread meanwhile is taking on chocolatier duties while Misato is having to pick up the bread slack and of course everyone pretty much does everything anyway. Two "new" Japanese women are at the shop, one of whom, Umi has been here only about two weeks and it seems shes being groomed to replace Misato who is scheduled to leave in November and return to Japan. Meanwhile, Rhett left Scarlet with a hungry baby and an overdue mortgage. . .Whew! It makes me tired just thinking about the tribulations Pascal has to deal with. But he still seems his old self, cool, calm, collected and goofy as the best of Looney Tune characters. Jean Marc, his brother is back in the front of the house and enjoys practicing both his Italian and English on us.
When I stopped by to check up on ma petit patissiere she was up to her arms so to speak in making sandwiches! But she was all smiles so something was working right.
